Orthopath, Buteyko Educator & Plantrician 1960-63: Trained as an economist, statistician and accountant at the University of Hull. 1963-1965: He worked as Financial Analyst with Fords UK (Tractors). 1966-1969: O & M and Operations Research Consultant with the Hawker Siddeley Group. 1970-1972: University Lecturer 1973 -1977: Established a Michelin Guide restaurant with his wife. 1978- 1981: Trained as an Osteopath at the European School of Osteopathy. 1981- 1995: He was co-founder of the first Holistic Health Clinic in Kent in 1981 1996- Present: Established “TotalHealthMatters!” A centre for holistic healthcare. 2010: He trained as a Buteyko Educator with the BIBH. He has published “The Buteyko Guide to Better Breathing & Better Health” and “The Buteyko Guide to Better Asthma Management” and recently “Connection - Towards a broader understanding of health in medicine” that outlines how our health is connected to body mechanics, to diet, to breathing, to mind, family, environment and yes, even the cosmos! 2015: He was awarded the eCornell University Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition 2015 - Present: Developing a Lifestyle Course and a holistic practice combining the four decades of training and practice experience. Published numerous health promoting podcasts. He believes we are at an critical evolutionary stage in our understanding and practice of medicine and that we need to meet this challenge not with old reductionist paradigm of Newtonian thinking but a new 21st Century holistic vision focused more on health promotion and less on pathology.
